Using Syslog Messaging to Monitor Router

Syslog retrieves the variables shown in brackets ([ ]) from the router’s system log
message or from the host table. The following paragraphs describe the variables
for
• IP header
• UDP header
• UDP data
• Priority code
IP Header
Syslog adds to any event message that passes all filtering criteria the destination
IP address for a specific remote host.
