Preface

This guide describes how to upgrade Nortel Networks

™

router software from

BayRS

™

Versions 12.xx and 13.xx to Version 14.xx.

Before You Begin

Before using this guide, make sure that the router you plan to upgrade is currently

running BayRS Version 12.xx or 13.xx and that it meets BayRS 14.xx hardware

and free-space requirements (see “Router Upgrade Prerequisites” on page 2-3). If

you need help meeting prerequisites, contact the Nortel Networks Technical

Solutions Center in your area.

Text Conventions

This guide uses the following text conventions:

angle brackets (< >) Indicate that you choose the text to enter based on the

description inside the brackets. Do not type the

brackets when entering the command.

Example: If the command syntax is:

ping <

ip_address

, you enter:

ping

192.32.10.12

bold text

Indicates command names and options and text that

you need to enter.

Example: Enter

show ip {alerts

routes}.

Example: Use the

dinfo

command.
