VTCPD Messages
P0602483 Ver: 03.41 Page 57
This allows the line to receive two messages with the specified Message ID-field.
Reserving a Slot
Slots can be required to identify limitations on connectivity. VTCPD has unlimited
connectivity. However, if a host can only receive five simultaneous messages on a line
then there are five slots defined for that line. VTCPD identifies that line as having only
five slots available and reserves slots on the line as necessary to insure that the
messages it needs to send can be sent. The slot is released when the host data arrives.
The command option -m I is used when a permanent slot allocation is not desired. It
allows the application to use the Get/ Free operation of the PeriProducer resource
block without the associated slot allocation.
Queuing Requests
The VTCPD daemon has two options when it receives a request from an application. It
can send the request to the host (default), or keep the request locally until the previous
request
(s) is answered.
