Event Messages for Routers
6-46
303550-A Rev 00
Entity Code/Event Code 97/52
Decimal Identifier 16802100
Severity: Warning
Message: Detected two neighbors having the same System ID and MAC address.
Meaning: NLSP detected two neighbors that have the same system ID and MAC address. The
default MAC address is derived from the router hardware (so it’s unique by definition).
However, a user can change the configured IPX MAC address for an interface, and in so
doing create a duplicate.
Action: Determine which router has the incorrect System ID and/or IPX MAC address. This may
entail going through each node on the system. Reconfigure the router with the correct
system ID/address.
Entity Code/Event Code 97/53
Decimal Identifier 16802101
Severity: Warning
Message: Detected a neighbor on interface with circuit index <index_no.> having the same MAC
address as mine <MAC_address>
Meaning: NLSP detected a neighbor on the specified NLSP interface that has the same MAC address
as the local NLSP router.
Action: Determine which router has the incorrect IPX MAC address. This may entail going
through each node on the system. If the local router uses an IPX MAC address derived
from the hardware, the problem is in the neighboring router, and you can’t do anything
about it locally. Verify that the local router address is correct, and reconfigure the router
with the correct address, if necessary.
Entity Code/Event Code 97/54
Decimal Identifier 16802102
Severity: Warning
Message: Detected another NLSP node using my internal network number
Meaning: NLSP detected another NLSP node that is using the same internal network number as the
local NLSP router.
Action: Use Site Manager to change your router’s internal network number field to an area-wide
unique network number.
